I went to work today.
Which is sort of a bad idea, considering holidays are ending oh so soon and I haven't touched any homework at all.
But I wanted the cash so I could buy havianas haha.
So I went anyway.
It was at the expo, clearing up 9 halls after some giant business convention.
While the job scope was pretty simple, clearing up and packing the various tables and chairs, it spanned a massive scope. My team was assigned 3 halls, which is pretty much about 6 football fields.
While we worked, everywhere around us was a frenzy of activity.
Workers smashed the booths with hammers, kicking them and inflicting so much blunt force that even the two-storey booths collasped on itself. It was indeed a sight to behold. When the giant booth crashed with a resounding impact, the dust shot up into the air, making it seem like an explosion had just taken place.
Very very cool.
We went around packing up the fridges as our priority. As a side effect, we checked every single fridge for leftover food and drinks. Alas we didn't find any. But someone at the loading dock DID find a fridge stocked with drinks and chocolate. The whole moving crew snacked happily.
As the day went on, hilarity ensued when Shi Hao revealed that he used to be overweight.
Alot of the poly crew crowded him, asking him for his secret strategy to slimming down haha.
Basically that was the first day of work, a bunch of guys getting all hot and sweaty and bonded together.
Right now, I'm looking forward to the second.
