OAC Inter-School Adventure Challenge.

A word of advice.
Never.
Ever.
Ride a bike over a long distance on the wrong gear.
Yesterday was the OAC Adventure Challenge!!!!
WOOO. It turned out to be surprisingly fun!
After some initial hiccups with finding a third team member, we pulled Yi Xuan along and formed two hockey teams. My team was with Shi Hao, Dolly and Puey Yee.
Warning: This isn't a short post, so if you need to go to the toilet, go now.
We started out at Sembawang MRT. All teams had the same first stop, which was the Sembawang Hot Spring.(We knew in advance cause we called up our OAC friends the day before XD)
We ought to have been DQed right at the start, cause in the first five minutes we jaywalked across the street. BUT. As the day went on, we realised that victory went to the resourceful.
Cheating is perfectly fine. (Provided you didn't get caught of course)
Anyway, our two hockey teams reached the hot springs on foot and went on a literal egg hunt; eggs were hidden in the bushes for us to find. The challenge there was to find two eggs per team and place them in the hot spring water. We were to soak our feet in the EIGHTY DEGREE CELSIUS water for two minutes. I suspected they underestimated the temperature when we saw steam everywhere. After cheating abit(Jin Xian was the OAC member running that station) we ate the now hard-boiled eggs and went off. Our two hockey teams were then given different routes. We bid farewell to the other team and went off.
Through some ridiculously rounded route the OAC told us, we took a one and a half hour bus ride to east coast park. From there, we rode about 13+km to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.
Apparently, my gear was on max for both sides, resulting in me virtually peddling upslope the whole time.
We reached the place sweaty and winded, only to be told to dismount and walk to the actual stop, SAF Yacht club. That place, is quite literally the most ulu, god-forsaken place in the whole of Singapore.(Its further east than even the airport) We trudged along the barren roads filled only with dust-weathered trucks carrying dirt. The walking took us well over an hour. So far the challenge was getting boring. A rather short kayaking task ensued, consisting of swopping kayaks and bursting balloons by blowing.(LOL) All the teams cheated, mostly by ripping the ballons apart. I simply got Puey Yee to use her sharp ear stud to pop them. Mission accomplished.
After bathing, we watched in vain as three other teams boarded a shuttle service bound towards Tanah Merah MRT.
Faced with the prospect of another agonising walk out, we decided instead to hitchhike!
Since the other teams enjoyed the comfort of riding out, we flagged down a passing van and the nice people onboard gave us a lift to east coast.
We made out way to Bedok Swimming Complex, where the task was bingo. Get four numbers in a row. Since Puey Yee and I were the only swimmers in our team, we had to swim back and forth to retrieve numbers. I ended up swimming ten laps. With us far behind the other teams, I wore my clothes over my trunks and we rushed off.
To Sengkang!
That was a screwed up pit stop. We could not find the stop as it was a HDB flat. As anyone who has been to Sengkang will know, the buildings there are indistinguishable from each other and we wasted alot of time wandering around. Once we found it, we climbed up fifteen floors, got the clue and then went to the botanic gardens.

By some stroke of luck( and us divulging the exact block no. to Felix), the other hockey team caught the same bus as us and we spent the 1h15 mins journey catching up and talking cock.
We RAN into the botanic gardens where the task was: make five passes with a frisbee(how creative and fitting to the adventure challenge). The last stop was school and we RAN to the bus stop, catching a bus to NJ.
Ahead of us was a CJ team and behind us an AJ team. NJ's side gate was locked and everyone was forced to go by the main gate. Having home ground advantage, Puey Yee slid under the locked side gate and carried our bags whilst the remaining 3 of us climbed over another gate, beating out the other teams.
Our positions were decided. We had finished 7th out of 18 teams. A respectable enough position.
After one last activity, abseiling, the prize presentation ceremony took place.
While a little bummed for not being able to catch the shuttle bus out or we would have finished at least third for sure, nevertheless we were all in high spirits.
We all decided to go to town and celebrate by watching a movie. Unfortunately, all the movies were already booked.
In the end we simply ate Burger King and went home.
It was strange how with the whole day running around, the most exciting moment was when Puey Yee wore a BK crown, stood up, and shouted to the counter staff: " I AM THE BURGER KING" Myabe she was on drugs
