This is my first post since coming back from the field camp and the subsequent confinement over the weekend.

Lousy commando field camp lasts 8 days.

Which is 3 more days than what normal BMT should be like.

I know 3 days doesn't seem like much but when you're on an island in the middle of nowhere.

With no phone.

Without your family or loved ones.

When your food tastes like soggy cupboard.

When everyone stinks with the filth of sweat and mud, where the smell pervades your senses nauseously.

When your skin everywhere is covered in rashes and boils due to the lack of hygiene.

When your bed is a harsh tangle of tree branches and roots.

When the insects around you are twice the size they should be.

Yeah.

Plus.

I'm OOC now. (Out of Course)

Due to the torn ligament in my left knee.

Guess I missed my only shot to be a commando.

Sad.

I really wanted to do the parachuting.

This extended weekend was pretty fun for me actually.

Ming and Felix stayed over thursday night and we went to have prata.

Though in all honestly Jalan Kayu roti prata is way way overrated.

Thompson is better.

I met my bunkmates for Kublai Khan buffet on friday.

The food is quite good.

Surprisingly, the combined appetites of 10 NSmen isn't as voracious as I had imagined.

Hmmm. Odd.

I went out to Giraffe afterwards, which is that cool restuarant/bar place opposite Plaza Sing in the middle of Istana Park.

At first we wanted to go Timbre but the place was way overcrowded.

Between me and Swan, we racked up $110 drinking cocktails.

I had a

The Bloody Mary tastes godawful.

I swear. It's the worst cocktail ever created.

It tastes like drinking dilute ketchup with chilli added in.

NEVER DRINK A BLOODY MARY.

Saturday I spent out with Sher Feng.

Apparently she thinks donating blood is a really really good deed haha.

But when you get a free box(6 bottles) of chicken essence I think its quite worth it!

The SMU talk was utterly boring.

Utterly.

Can't wait for the actual open houses where I can go take a look.

You are going to the SMU open house right?

Plus what the hell? I come back after 2 weeks and there's 2 new MRT stations?
